Note: We are experiencing issues with the new release of Google Home App and are working with Google to resolve. It may make it impossible to connect to Conrad Connect with specific phone models. It may work if you click many times on the link button.
What is needed for using google Home? You need …
A Google account, a WLAN connection, A Smartphone or Tablet, The Google Home App
Tip: Please note that at the moment Conrad Connect Assistant is available in the English (US) and German language.
Set up your Google Home using Google Home app:
Start Google Home App to add the Google Home device tap on the symbol in the upper-right corner of the display.
Now Google Home is appearing in the list of available devices.
Follow the instructions in the app, select the room and connect it to WiFi.
Sign in with your Google account. It is important to allow Google Home App to use personal results, in order to use Conrad Connect. Also you can turn it on later. Then you can either skip the next steps and start using Google Home, or teach the Assistant to recognise your voice (in this case, only your voice will be recognised, until you activate “Multi-user” feature.
Once the Google home speaker is ready say “Ok Google, Talk to Conrad Connect”. You will receive a notification in the Home App, suggesting you to Link your Conrad Connect account. Press the “Link” button on your phone and enter your login and password for Conrad Connect.
After that Conrad Connect will ask you to grant the access, you should allow it.
Now you are ready to use Conrad Connect with your Google Home. In order to do this say: “Ok Google, Talk to Conrad Connect” it will ask you which Do-Project do you want to execute, then name the project that has an Action Button.
You can do this in one step by saying “Ok Google, Ask Conrad Connect to activate “Project name” OR “Hey Google, talk to Conrad Connect and start "Project name".
Please make sure that you should not name Action button Project “Goodbye”, as after saying “goodbye” Google Home stops making any actions.
Note that Google Home will use your device's language, and if it is English, Action Button-Projects on Conrad Connect should be named in English, in order to use them. The same thing with German. They should be named in German, if Google Home is set up in German.
